GirlsFilmSchool 2002 presents its Summer Screening Series:

June 19th
Documentary director Jilann Spitzmiller presents "Homeland", an award-winning documentary about four families on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
The SCREEN, 7pm, $5.00.

June 21st
Documentary filmmaker Lena Carr, presents "Kinaalda" a film exploring the intricate four-day Navajo ceremony to guide young girls into womanhood.
Studio One at The SCREEN, 7pm, Free.

June 22nd

The Reel Grrls present a screening of Public service announcements created by 14-18 year-old girls exploring an alternative landscape of American adolescence questioning how young women are portrayed in the media. This series screened at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival.
Studio One at The SCREEN, 2-3pm, Free.

Reel Grrls will be followed by a Filmmakers Panel Featuring: Liza Bambenek, Lena Carr, Ginny Cerrella, Joelle Collier, Kit Fitzgerald, Jenniphr Goodman, Betsy Milicevic and the Reel Grrls.

June 24th
Hannah Weyer, director, presents ÒLa Boda" and "Escuela"; two documentaries exploring the lives of Mexican migrants and the challenges they face while striving to maintain their roots in Mexico and simultaneously pursue the ÒAmerican Dream.Ó
The SCREEN, 7pm, Free.

June 28th
GirlsFilmSchool presents its Final Screening of GFS 2002 ParticipantsÕ work. Individual and group projects from the two-week session will be featured.
